The Brief
The clients, both successful professionals, approached Bella Vie Interiors with architects plans and a builder already engaged for the proposed renovation of their home.
Tired of living in the home that had suited their now grown family, their brief was to bring a contemporary feel with a neutral palette to showcase their art and artefacts collected from a lifetime of travel. The home had to feel light and bright without being glossy white and minimalist. Consequently, the clients’ knew they needed to hire an interior designer to guide them through this process.
In this home renovation, Bella Vie successfully transformed a tired and dated home. As a result, both inside and out blend modern living with the comfort and familiarity of classic elements.
The Kitchen
The kitchen features a neutral colour palette of navy, white and timber influenced by the clients’ art collection and love of earthy colours.
The kitchen cabinetry features vj paneling and is combined with Caesarstone Frosty Carrina kitchen benchtops selected to bring texture and a classic, familiar feel to the new interior.
The kitchen was relocated within the room to a position that offered a better outlook and more flexibility for the open plan kitchen, dining and living space. The variation in the spotted gum timber flooring adds richness and texture throughout the newly renovated home.
A small walk in pantry was included to hide away small appliances and make day to day living more functional. Large kitchen drawers make accessing tea, spoons and cups simple and functional.
The kitchen features a large kitchen island bench for casual family gatherings. Three richly coloured rusty red Gubi Rhonde pendants pop against the navy and white backdrop of the kitchen cabinetry.
VJ paneling offers a classic textural element to the kitchen cabinetry and is the perfect accompaniment to the softly marbled Caesarstone kitchen bench tops.
A mirrored splashback reflects light around the room and ensures the clients, who enjoy cooking, have visibility of their guests and the view behind them.
An integrated French-door fridge/freezer is neatly hidden and conveniently located for easy access for indoor and outdoor entertaining.
Feature timber shelving built into the back of the kitchen island is used to store the clients’ most frequently used cookbooks.

The main bathroom of the home is designed to deliver a spa-like retreat for the clients. A freestanding bath with floor mounted spout is perfectly positioned to take in the outdoor view.
A perfectly coloured Jardan ‘Flask’ indigo blue porcelain pendant adds a bright touch of colour to the neutral backdrop of white walls, timber vanity and softly patterned floor tiles.
A custom wall hung bathroom vanity and mirrored shaving cabinet provide adequate storage with easy access and the beautiful softly patterned floor tile flows into the open walk-in shower.

The Result
Bella Vie Interiors completed the interior design for all areas being renovated in the home.
The outcome is a beautiful home that the clients are extremely proud to show off to their family and friends. It functions equally as well day to day for the two of them as it does when they host get-togethers. The eclectic mix of art and artefacts, although not shown in these images, sit beautifully in the light, airy interiors.
