ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Our clients loved a modern industrial style, and yet the colonial style home they purchased couldn’t have been further from their desired style. With busy lives professionally and socially, the clients required a forever home that could enhance everyday living, working and entertaining, whilst withstanding the test of time. An eclectic mix of art and sculptures handed down from an earlier generation filled the home. Our job was to deliver a space that showcased the authenticity of these personal belongings and met the needs of the family.
Ornate cornices, ceiling roses and a traditional timber kitchen gave way to concrete style floor tiles, minimalist square set ceilings and timber and black accents. The existing brick fireplaces and timber window frames were retained to enhance the industrial feel. A mirrored splashback in the dramatic black kitchen reflects the lush, bush surroundings giving a sense of being surrounded by nature.
The outcome is a home that feels like it belongs perfectly to the family that lives there.
